Notes to the HOMELESS
OUR TEAM 2018-2019
You all are the best and did a terriffic job selling the braclets.
Here is the LINK to something you may want to investigate as a project to serve the community. We will discuss this at our next meeting which will be Thursday February 25 @ 2:45 in Grello's room.
This manual is intended to help you think about how best to develop and/or expand a sustainable diaper bank. Even those diaper banks that did not initially address the issues raised here have told us that they wish they thought of these questions earlier.
Remember to sell your Bracelets
So very proud of you all!
THURSDAY MAY 3, 2018
Let's celebrate all the great things we have done this semester and look forward to the great things we will do. We will also be welcoming the new club officers.
Dear Sherry and LEC Rotary Club,
It is with great pleasure that we announce the destination of the RiseAgainst Hunger meals you helped package on 3/10/2018. A shipping container, holding 285,120 meals, has been sent to Haiti for our partner St. Dunstan's Haiti Outreach Committee. If you happen to receive more than one of these announcements, your meals have gone to impact multiple partners.
St. Dunstan's Haiti Outreach Committee is an organization that nourishes lives through food assistance and other services in Haiti. To learn more, please visit our partner/country spotlight on the Impact Stories tab and click and drag on our World Aid Map at https://www.riseagainsthunger.
Ending hunger is only possible if we continue to grow the movement. We encourage you to share the news about this shipment. Since 2005, volunteers like you have helped us distribute over 310 million meals worldwide. We can end hunger by 2030, but we can't do it without you.
Keep up the great work and spread the word - #2030IsPossible.

On Saturday, February 24, 2018 Rotary District 7690 held its annual Four Way Test high school speech contest at Guilford Technical Community College in Jamestown. Students presented speeches aimed at their fellow students using Rotary’s Four Way test as a guideline for a lifetime of ethical behavior.
Rotary’s Four Way Test states:
Of the things we think, say, or do...
1. Is it the truth?
2. Is it fair to all concerned?
3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
The students were asked to make a speech addressed to their classmates on how the Four Way Test can be used to make ethical decisions in their lives.
Twelve students participated in the District Competition. The winners of the 2018 District Contest were:
1st Place – Sonja Woolley of Pinecrest High School, sponsored by the Southern Pines Rotary Club.
2nd Place – Gabby Zeigler of Wesleyan Christian Academy, sponsored by the High Point Club.
3rd Place – Edith Mata-Torres of Asheboro High School, sponsored by the Asheboro Club.
